Kumpf & Meyer, Hédoniste 2021

A standout amongst the formidable pack of this season, Hédoniste 2021 is somehow both full-bodied and light while being easy to drink but complex, a true study in contradictions (like many of the hedonists we know).

Biodynamic farming in Rosheim, spontaneous fermentation in the cellar. Grapes from vines planted in 1980 and 2000. Destemmed then macerated for 4-5 days before pressing. No additives except for time: nine months in old 500 liter barrels to be exact. Bottled in December 2022. 1000 bottles exist, grab as many as you can.
